Club property consists of over 30 acres of woodlands, which overlooks the 99-acre "Trophy Trout" Lake Quonnipaug. Located at 4158 Durham Road (Route 77), Guilford, CT directly across from the State of Connecticut boat launching ramp. The club membership consists of hundreds of sports persons from all professions.
Our facilities are available to members 365 days a year and include an 8 shooting position indoor range, 50 yard outdoor pistol range, and a 100 & 200 yard high power rifle outdoor range. We host many family events all year long to make our club the ideal place for the sports person. We also host shooting events at the club which include Plate Shoots (center fire pistol, rim fire pistol, rim fire rifle and pistol caliber carbine), CMP matches, and 100 yard .22 rifle league shoots.
In addition to providing recreational facilities to our members The New Haven Sportsmen’s Club is dedicated to being a responsible member of the community. Every year our members raise funds to benefit local charities with additional donations from the club itself. Some of the many local organizations are local youth sports teams, youth groups and to the local food bank.
The New Haven Sportsman's Club, Inc. is currently taking applications. The club offers various types of shooting facilities such as an outdoor 50-yard pistol / small caliber rifle range and a 100 / 200 yard hi-power rifle range. We also offer an indoor 75 foot, 8-port pistol /small caliber rifle range. This facility is handicapped accessible and people with disabilities are welcome to join or participate in future scheduled events. In addition to our Pistol / Falling Plate shoots, from spring to fall season we hold our small bore .22 rifle matches. Military rifle matches will start again in the spring. Please note that these organized events are open to non-member shooters alike. Please see our Contacts page for additional match and contact information. If you are interested in archery, we have property to develop an archery range and would encourage people to be involved in that development process.
Dues are $225.00 per year with a one time initiation fee of $600.00 (both subject to CT dues tax of 10%). All members are subject to a $600.00 capital assessment payable over six (6) years starting within the year of joining the club. This special range & tractor assessment was essential in order to construct the indoor shooting range and purchase the tractor for ground maintenance.
Interested parties wishing to join our club are welcome to meet the membership chairman and other members at Sunday breakfast.
